Portland – Pok Pok

Much like the last trip a few months ago Pokpok was the first stop. Left Seattle at 8:30 to get to the restaurant shortly after it opened so we wouldn’t have to wait for a table.

Given how hot Portland is right now, almost felt like we were actually in Thailand.


Ike’s Vietnamese wings, spicy. Just as good as the fist time.


Phak Bung Fai Deng – On choy, flame stir with garlic, Thai chili, preserved yellow, beans, oyster and fish sauces


Kung Op Wun Sen – Gulf prawns baked in a clay pot over charcoal with pork belly, lao jiin, soy, ginger, cilantro root, black pepper, Chinese celery and bean thread noodles.


Muu Sateh – Pork loin skewers marinated in coconut milk and tumeric, grilled over charcoal and served with peanut sauce, cucumber relish and grilled bread. Yes, bread really is the normal accompaniment in Thailand
