Walked to Pike Place to pick up something to make for dinner when suddenly got hungrier when walked past the Country Dough sign. I’m all for casual Chinese of all types in Seattle, just refuse to eat a full Cantonese meal, and had wanted to try CD after reading about their opening a few weeks ago. I went for the Szechuan flatbread known as guo kui filled with chicken and the cumin flavor. It was a great snack although the cumin overpowered everything else at first, even the coriander, but it evened out as more bread got into each bite. The bread was really good, crispy and light, but the chicken wasn’t anything special. Really wish there was a lamb option since I think cumin pairs better with this fattier and stronger tasting meat.
