Lima – La Mar

We again had ceviche for lunch at La Mar which was drastically different from Hijo de Olaya. Hijo is the perfect place for a quick, cheap lunch where you order at the counter and you’re in and out in 20 minutes. La Mar is where you go to people watch and have a long lunch. The staff were incredibly nice, especially after I realized it was owned by Gaston Acurio of Astrid y Gaston and let them know this was our third meal in a row at his establishments. Panchita is also owned by him so we ate three meals in a row at one of his restaurants, each were so different had no clue that all in the same group.




sea snails and octopus in a black sauce, this was our favorite. It was very different than normal ceviche, both with the snails and the black marinade.


Mixed with calamari, 2nd favorite


Traditional fish but thin slices and not chunks. This was awesome as well but something has to come last.
